Emergency information alerts and local resources
Check active official National Weather Service alerts for the covered counties. Alerts refresh every five minutes while enabled; data may be delayed or incomplete.
When alert geometry is available, areas appear as severity-colored outlines on the map. Choose “View colored area on map” to close this panel and zoom to the alert.
Alerts are off. Turn them on to check the selected county.
For immediate danger, call 911. NWS alerts cover weather and some partner-issued notices; they do not include every local emergency or dispatch call.

Aerial imagery coverage and availability
Extra map details cloud
Indiana aerial photos: 2025. Michigan aerial photos: 2022 USDA NAIP, with native image detail through zoom 18. The map can zoom closer, but those photos will enlarge rather than gain detail. This browser saves only areas you view.
Aerial imagery availability can vary.
Core OpenStreetMap streets and features are hosted online across Greater Michiana in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. These street-map tiles do not depend on Extra map details cloud. That service provides optional aerial photos and Indiana recreation snapshots; Michigan aerial photos cover the four Michigan counties. Indiana electric reference layers come from a separate map service and may sometimes be unavailable.
Using the map
- + and −, or pinch zoom in and out; closer views show more detail where data exists.
- Layers opens the map chooser for the street map or a blank background, and for showing or hiding community pins and drawn lines.
- Fit Indiana shows the Indiana portion of Greater Michiana. Fit Michigan shows Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, and Kalamazoo Counties in Michigan.
- Map filters opens the panel for place filters, aerial imagery, community map content, and advanced options.
- Emergency information opens county-based official NWS alerts under Advanced map options. County scanner directories appear inside matching emergency resource pins.
- Aerial imagery adds available county aerial photos over the map. This browser may reuse photos it already saved.
- Check imagery availability checks whether aerial photos are available for this area. It does not download a whole county.
- Clear saved map data removes previously viewed map data stored in this browser, including street and photo tiles, label files, and recreation data. It does not delete pins, accounts, or server data.
- Search address or place searches the regional address index for the six covered counties. Results use Indiana GIO and OpenStreetMap data; coverage varies and searches stay on Region Relay.
- Add a pin starts a community pin submission. New pins are reviewed before everyone can see them. Map Studio is the separate signed-in workspace for drawing or editing a trail, parcel, or map correction.
- Tap a mapped road, house or building, address, parcel, trail, waterway, visible power feature, or label to see its available details and report an inaccuracy. To report an aerial-photo tile or blank map spot, choose “Report a map problem” and tap that location.
- Community map corrections appear as a separate layer after approval; use the Community map controls to show or hide them.
Core map layers

OpenStreetMap supplies mapped roads, buildings, addresses, waterways, parks, and visible power features in the two Indiana and four Michigan counties. Indiana state map data adds reference roads, address locations, and parcel outlines in Indiana only. The Michigan layers in this release are OpenStreetMap features; official Michigan parcel lines and address points are not included. This map is hosted online and loads tiles only around the area in view. Coverage may be incomplete.

Indiana road and address labels can replace matching OpenStreetMap names when turned on. Tap an Indiana road, address point, or parcel outline to see available source details. Indiana state-map address points and house-number labels; coverage may be incomplete.
Approximate state reference lines, not a survey; not proof of ownership or exact boundary position.
